Hospital

Bringing Comfort. Sharing Compassion. Honoring Those Who Served.

The Hospital Program reflects the VFW Auxiliary's commitment to ensuring that hospitalized veterans and those receiving long-term care know they are remembered, appreciated, and never alone. Through volunteer service, thoughtful gestures, and meaningful connections, Auxiliary members bring comfort and encouragement to veterans in VA medical centers, state veterans homes, and other healthcare facilities throughout Oklahoma.

Whether offering a friendly visit, supporting recreational activities, providing comfort items, or assisting with special events, our members help brighten the lives of those who have sacrificed in service to our nation.

What we do

  • Volunteer at VA medical centers, veterans' homes, and healthcare facilities.

  • Provide comfort items, personal care products, and recreational supplies.

  • Support therapy and recreational activities for hospitalized veterans.

  • Organize holiday celebrations, recognition events, and special visits.

  • Assist with bingo, crafts, games, and other patient activities.

  • Express appreciation through cards, gifts, and acts of kindness.

Why it matters

For many veterans, a visit, conversation, or simple act of kindness can make a lasting difference. The Hospital Program reminds those receiving care that their service and sacrifice are never forgotten. Through compassion and personal connection, we help foster hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging while expressing our nation's gratitude.
