AMERICANISM
Promoting patriotism. Honoring service. Inspiring citizenship.
The Americanism Program encourages patriotism, respect for our nation's traditions, and responsible citizenship through education and community involvement. By promoting proper flag etiquette, honoring military service, and fostering appreciation for our nation's history and freedoms, the VFW Auxiliary helps preserve the values that unite Americans.

Throughout Oklahoma, Auxiliary members bring the Americanism Program to life by presenting flags, participating in patriotic ceremonies, recognizing first responders and military personnel, supporting Blue Star and Gold Star families, and educating youth and adults about the meaning of our nation's symbols and traditions.

Why it matters
Patriotism is more than displaying the flag—it is demonstrated through service, respect, and a commitment to preserving the freedoms we enjoy. By educating future generations, honoring those who serve, and encouraging active citizenship, the Americanism Program helps strengthen our communities and ensures the values of liberty, responsibility, and national pride endure for years to come.
