Warriors for Freedom

Calling all VFW Auxiliaries; our president Frank Matek’s special project is Warriors for Freedom.

Their main objective is to prevent our veterans from committing suicide, but they do so much more. They help them with food, boxes, clothes, and transportation to appointments. They have a thrift store called Purposeful to cover overhead costs so that all donations can be used for the veterans. They take them fishing, out to eat, and they rent out what is called “Jelly Stone” at Eufaula Lake. The veterans pay for nothing because of the donations that Warriors for Freedom receive.

Some of the men and women have been involved with the program and volunteer now to help with the other veterans. Warriors for Freedom is run by Jose Cinco and they are located at 4616 North Western Oklahoma City and they were founded in 2012.

I want to offer a challenge to all the auxiliaries: Whoever can collect the most money for the project by the fall festival will collect a $25 reward. This will also start again starting from fall festival to winter festival and we’ll do the same thing, another $25 reward to the auxiliary who collects the most.

If you have any questions, please call, text, or email. I look forward to seeing all that money coming in.
