Promote, Promote, Promote Our Scholarships

Welcome back everyone! This year, we are “Serving America’s Heroes”. Scholarships are the way to show the next generation what patriotism is. Let’s get articles in the local newspaper, print flyers off of MALTA (under the Historian & Media Relations tab) and handout to schools, libraries and any Private or Christian Schools. Call or meet with any local youth groups. Promote, Promote, Promote!!!! Lets get this year started!

The Theme for Voice of Democracy (grades 9th – 12th) and Patriot’s Pen (grades 6th – 8th)) has been announced as “What a Veteran Taught Me About America”, with the deadlines being Oct 31st, 2026.

Let’s remember the Continuing Education Scholarship and hold a fundraiser to make donations from your Auxiliary. Deadline is February 15th.

Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest and 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest is for grades 9th to 12th. All official forms and contest rules can be found on MALTA. Deadlines are for Participating Auxiliaries: March 31st, District is optional, Department is April 15th with winners at National by May 5th.

The Auxiliary supports the VFW with Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen and Sport Clips Help-A-Hero Scholarships. This year, Scholars App is being requested by National and VFW Department of Oklahoma Chairman Jim Bassett. Jim and I will be working together to get Auxiliaries and Posts online so we can make this easier for Department/Auxiliaries/District. Please contact Star Caudle and she will be assisting with this transition to Scholars App.
