Patriotism in Action This Month

I hope you are staying cool and ready for autumn! Your Americanism reports have been amazing—I wish I could attend every single event you host.

As we jump into September, here are three major patriotic observances to keep on your radar (check MALTA for others):

• September 11 (Patriot Day): Host a Moment of Silence in a local park or roll up your Auxiliary shirt sleeves while volunteering at a local charity.

• September 14 (VFW Auxiliary Birthday): Celebrate YOUR day! Host a party with cake, ice cream, balloons, and games for the post and community. Present members with milestone pins and appreciation certificates.

• September 27 (Gold Star Mother’s & Family’s Day): Honor our local Gold Star Families with flowers or a memorial tree planting to remind them their sacrifice is never forgotten.
