Answering the Call to Serve

Service is at the heart of everything we do - whether serving as an officer, committee member, or devoted Auxiliary member, we each play an important role in supporting our Veterans. Our purpose remains the same: to answer the call to serve with compassionate hearts and willing hands.
The prophet Isaiah answered God’s call simply and wholeheartedly:
“Here am I; send me” – Isaiah 6:8.
Isaiah’s trust allowed God to guide him clearly. I encourage each member to consider how you can answer that same call and respond in kind.
Perhaps it means heading up a new project within your Auxiliary, reaching out to a member in need, mentoring a newer member, or simply being present when someone needs encouragement. How can your talents and gifts strengthen your Auxiliary? What opportunities has God placed before you to serve others? What impact will it make when you respond humbly and completely to God’s call?
When we place service above self, we often discover that we receive as much as we give. Mahatma Ghandi expressed it well when he said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
As your Department Chaplain for 2026-2027, I am honored to answer God’s call to serve the members of Oklahoma. My goal is to be a source of comfort in times of sorrow, encouragement during life’s challenges, and spiritual support in moments of celebration. Whether through prayer, a listening ear, or words of hope, I am available whenever you need me. All conversations will remain confidential unless you grant permission otherwise, allowing you to share your concerns with confidence and trust.
Please join me in praying for our Department and National Officers as they begin their leadership, and for our members as we begin a new year serving Veterans and their families:
Heavenly Father,
As we begin this new year of service, guide our hearts and our hands. Help us to serve with compassion, lead with humility, and encourage one another with kindness. Bless our Department Officers, Chairmen, National Officers, Ambassadors, and every member of our Auxiliary. Grant them wisdom, strength, and the joy that is found only in You, LORD, as they carry out their duties.
Let us move forward together with renewed passion and unwavering commitment, knowing that our service truly makes a difference. May all we do honor our veterans, support their families, and reflect Your love and glory.
Amen
In Faith and Service,
